National Innovation System Review Report Deferred: CRC Recommendations Available

On 31 July 2008 Senator Carr announced that he had granted an extension of one month for the completion of the Cutler Review of the National Innovation System, which is expected to be available to the public at the beginning of September 2008.

One of the working groups covering the CRC program and chaired by Professor Mary O’Kane has completed its report, which can be obtained from here. In summary the Working Group recommended that the program be refreshed, refocused modified, with a modest increase in total funding.

In future, the it is recommended the CRC program provide support for pre-competitive or pre-applicative research ventures between end-users and researchers which tackle a clearly-articulated, major challenge for the end users addressing identified risk gaps.
