MJA Seminar
How much eligible R&D is going on within your company?
If you’re interested in finding out how much R&D is going on in your company, the R&D tax concession will provide the answers. Part education, part workshop and part implementation, the MJA Seminar is an opportunity to get the key individuals in your organisation together to explore the R&D tax concession criteria and your eligible activities.
How do we get started?
From working with many clients over the years we’ve found that taking time to learn about your business and to explore the challenges and opportunities pays off handsomely in identifying claims. It’s often best to start the MJA Seminar process with a site tour or presentation from a company official who can address these issues. Once we’ve spent some time learning about your business we start the process of education about the R&D tax concession.
What does the presentation cover?
It’s difficult to cover all dimensions of the R&D tax concession in a half-day seminar. Each topic can be explained further and deeper until it uses all of the available time, although some are certainly more contentious than others.
The presentation answers the three main elements relevant to most audiences:
1. What is eligible R&D?
2. What is eligible expenditure?
3. What is the process for making a claim?
What’s the outcome?
A successful seminar relies upon the input of both MJA and company staff attending. If the level of conversation and collaboration is high enough it is often possible to identify where a company is on the compliance spectrum, what hurdles they face in making claims and, if necessary, generate a working draft for an R&D plan. Where this is the case, many companies will find they have a clear sense of how much eligible activity is going on within their business, and what is needed to capture it as part of an annual compliance process.
