The Federal and State governments have grant programs of various sizes and complexity to assist companies undertake R&D and to commercialise new products and processes. Funding is available from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), various grants and loans programs offered under the Dept of Industry Science and Resources (DISR) such as the Industry Growth Program, and a range of State-based programs including the NSW Government’s Medical Devices Funds. Renewable Energy
The Federal and State governments, through ARENA and other grant programs, support projects in solar, wind, geothermal hydro, bioenergy and battery storage technology aimed at moving Australia towards net zero. Manufacturing and Services (including software)
DISR’s Industry Growth program provides matched funding of between $100,000 and $5 million for innovative commercialisation and growth projects that are in prototyping through to market-readiness stages. You will be deeply involved in the application process, as you have the most knowledge about your company and project. While we assist in drafting and can create entire sections using your internal documentation, our role is to manage the process, ensuring project objectives are met and timelines are achievable
Does MJA offer any guarantees for securing grant funding?
While we can offer our insights into your likelihood of success, it is not possible to offer guarantees for securing grant funding, because it is impossible to know for any program or funding round where the priorities of the body making the decision lie. However, we do have a fee model for grant writing, with a modest upfront payment, and a fee based on the grant size that is only payable on success.
